Trail Overview
Goose Creek is a short single track in CDA National Forest. The west trailhead starts off of Upper Independence Road and has a nice flat area near a creek for anyone wanting to camp off their bike. Running west to east, the first mile or so is road width, straight and fast in the shade with lots of low-hanging branches. Drop down a steep switchback that takes you to the creek. The trail becomes loose dirt with a few bigger root sections. The creek crossing is just a few inches deep and mostly smooth. The majority of the rest of the trail is narrow single, track side-hilling on a ledge. It is a twelve-inch wide trail with lots of tree branches and a steady decline down to Independence Creek. The trail itself is smooth dirt, not off-camber, just narrow and with significant ledge exposure.
