Trail Overview
The Hidden Lake Loop singletrack is a very difficult trail characterized by relentless rocks and boulders. Riders should be prepared for an elevated heart rate for about 75% of the trail due to its challenging nature. The lower part of the trail, towards the Hidden Lake Hiking Trail, provides a flat and mellow break in pace through the forest and seems to be frequently used by hikers accessing Hidden Lake. The second half of the trail, to the east of Hidden Lake, is rarely ridden and can be hard to stay on track. Riders should look out for stacked cairns and some cut trees to help stay on track. There are still many downed trees in the valley that will need to be jumped or navigated around. The rocks and boulders are oddly spaced, requiring careful placement of your tires to avoid drops and sharp transitions that could cause an "over the bars" situation. Be prepared for a steep climb out of the valley followed by a highly technical section connecting to the Upper Hazard Lake Trail. This trail is not recommended for motocross-style bikes; a soft suspension enduro machine with a soft tire/mousse combo is highly recommended for this terrain.

Difficulty
This trail is rated a 7 difficulty due to aggressive rock sections, some tight switchbacks, and steep climbs. It's a good challenge for even the most advanced rider. There is no high exposure or big singular make-or-break moves required that would make this trail rated higher than a 7 though.
