Trail Overview
Horse Heaven Pass is a mildly elevated backcountry route filled with picturesque views of the Lost River Range and a beautiful display of colors from all the wildflowers. This unmaintained, slightly rocky, dirt road connects Double Springs Pass to the Upper Pahsimeroi River. It has a few trails that spur off to tuck you up to the base of the mountains for some serene camping or take you up even higher to places such as nearby Clark Lake. There are some low spots where water collects and some exposed piping for the cattle watering troughs. Towards the Upper Pahsimeroi River trail there is a small descent to a water crossing that tends to be a little muddy on the bank so exercise some caution. Be prepared to not have any cell service.
