Trail Overview
The Iron Mountain Trail is 6.4 miles (9.9 miles if you include the lookout) that follows Kelly Creek. This trail connects the Blue Ridge Trail and completes the loop. To make a loop use the West Fork of Kelly Creek Trail, Spur Road 166D to Virginia Gulch, to Blue Ridge, and ending with Iron Mountain Trail. Look for signage for the Kelly Creek ATV loop - the route is well-marked. Making this loop will take several hours but gives you incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Take a side trip to Iron Mountain Lookout - this will add 3.5 miles approx. This trail is very steep and rocky, travel with care. This is a 50" trail and there is a gate at the exit/entrance. This trail can be traveled on its own as an out and back be aware and watch for oncoming traffic.
