Trail Overview
This 3-mile ATV trail starts at Basin Creek Road and steadily goes slightly uphill to the intersection with the Hay Knapp Creek single track. It's an easy two-track ride through a grassy valley at the bottom of a hillside through a burn area. There are lots of logs down that are tall and skinny tree trunks, so if they fall on the trail they are generally pretty easy to ride over. One log was 2 feet in the air and needed to be cut for ATVs but was easy enough for a dirt bike to ride underneath it. Or someone would have to lift it up for an ATV to pass. Since it goes through a burn area there's potential for more logs like this. The trail goes along the Basin Creek for most of it, being flowy and easy, with little dips into tiny creek crossings. It's mostly a fast and easy cruiser ride. It's probably mostly ridden by dirt bikers accessing the single track. ATVs can take Kelly Creek ATV Trail to add additional mileage to their ride.
