Trail Overview

This route crosses over Mt HooDoo (elevation 5,119') from Blanchard to Priest River via National Forest Road 2550. The views up here are incredible on a clear day. Mt. Hoodoo is a popular spot for off-roading, hunting, and ATV's. It's also popular with snowmobilers during the winter months.

Difficulty

NF-2550 is well maintained and should be passable with just about any vehicle in the summer time. It is not plowed or maintained in the winter.

Access Description

From Blanchard: Turn onto Blanchard Cutoff from highway 41. Drive 2.5 miles down Blanchard Cutoff and turn left onto NF-2550.From Priest River: Take Highway 2 to Wisconsin St, which crosses the Pend Orielle River. Turn left onto Dufort Rd and drive about 4.5 miles. Then turn right onto NF-2550.
