Trail Overview
This is an east/west road that connects several different national forest roads in the area. It branches off FR-612 on the west side and ends at Marie Saddle (413) on the east side. You may find huckleberries along the side of the road during the right time of year. There are tons of great roads in this area of the Coeur d'Alene National Forest; you could easily spend all day exploring the area. Snow may be present clear into May.

Skookum Saddle is a well-maintained road. Most low-clearance vehicles or 2WD vehicles can make it up this main road, although 4WD may be required during mud or snow conditions. Cell service is intermittent in this area.
