Trail Overview

Trail 10 leaves from the large paved parking area on East Fernan Lake Road and goes north to connect to Trail D. The beginning is flowy with small whoops and small creek crossings. Then, it gets rockier as it gains more elevation and becomes super washed out. It's more problematic as it becomes rutted with many deep troughs through the trail's center. It has some roots and loose rocks near the trail's end, with big holes before the origins of the ruts. There are some steeper rocky sections as you go north. This trail is a good challenge for a beginner rider looking to start doing harder trails without high consequences since there's no exposure, it's a short trail, and it's close to the staging area. Much of the trail is wider, so you can pick your line through the rocks and roots, but there are some narrower sections with overgrown bushes, and you might be ducking for branches. Many downed logs have been cut since this is so close to town. Watch out for mud in the troughs in the shady sections.

Access Description

This is a small trail system for dirt bikers and ATVs right next to the town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, that has a little bit for everyone. It has hard trails, easy trails, single track and two-track, in a really cool environment. It's close to town, but you can still see wildlife here including deer and moose. There are parking areas at the end of Nettleton Gulch Road and up East Fernan Lake Road. These are multi-use trails shared with hikers and mountain bikers, so please be respectful. There are sometimes trail signs at each trail, but there are often lots of unmarked intersections, and it's like a maze of trails here, so it's really helpful to have a map out here. You may get 1 or 2 bars of cell service while on the trails, but may also have no signal. It's hot in the summer here, and rainy/snowy in the winter, but it's rideable almost all year long, but best in spring, summer, fall.
