Trail Overview
Ryans Mountain Road is a well-maintained gravel route that's two vehicles wide for the majority of its nearly six-mile length. It climbs from Kentucky State Highway 1470 before dropping back down from the ridgeline in the last mile or so. Unfortunately, there are only a few small pull-offs along the side of the road, and outside of the dead-end, there aren't many places suitable for camping. No water seemed to be available, even for filtering. Cell service is spotty. Like many forest roads in this portion of Daniel Boone National Forest, Ryans Mountain Road doesn't connect to any other roads. In the fall and winter some nice views are available.

Difficulty
It's a well maintained forest road. Outside of a few washboard sections and some larger rocks sticking up it's easily navigable.
