Trail Overview

This is a very nice forest road with mature trees, and it has a gorgeous campground just off the main road that is a common destination for backpackers along the Sheltowee Trail. It also has some spots for smaller overland trailers. This trail does fall along the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway (DBBB) and the southern addition to the trail. It's a well-maintained forest road with several bridges. The campground has a swimming hole in the creek with some fishing spots, a picinic area, and vault toilets.

Difficulty

This is a very easy and tightly packed gravel road with lots of room to pass vehicles. It's heavily trafficked by people hiking the Sheltowee.

Fresh gravel and some grade work along the trail. Very well maintained road surface.

Access Description

There are lots of signs that lead to this point. It is marked by the typical brown marker signs in the Daniel Boone National Forest.
