Trail Overview

37 Trail is an awesome and beautiful bidirectional off-road trail located within the Manistee National Forest. The trail starting from the west begins under a tunnel of tall red pine trees and approaches a very heavily washed-out off-camber section. The trail here is wide enough to take the "high side" and avoid the washout. However, if you take on the washout, use caution as it can be very tippy. As you continue throughout the forest, the landscape narrows closer to the trail. There are a few mud hole sections to note. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come prepared! Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. Be sure to soak up the gorgeous landscape around these areas. This is an awesome trail for all to enjoy!

Difficulty

The Technical Rating and Difficulty is listed as a 4 due to the off-camber sections in the washouts along this trail as well as the mud holes. This trail is also only wide enough for one vehicle with limited places to pass. Beyond these sections, this is an easy two-track trail with a lot of beautiful scenery in this National Forest.
