Trail Overview
Aspen Trail (NFS 6295) is an easy off-road trail located just a few miles south of U.S. 10. This route has nothing technical and weaves through a gorgeous section of tall Michigan Red Pine Forest in the Manistee National Forest. If you've never seen these trees and how they're planted in perfectly straight rows and grow so tall and skinny, this is a must-see trail. Along this route, you'll cross the Michigan Cross-Country Cycle Trail (MCCCT-BWC). Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Use caution as there can be many downed trees along the trail. This trail is typically only wide enough for 1 vehicle, but there are plenty of places to pass. There are many other trails nearby to explore as well. Enjoy this track, because it's a one-of-a-kind!
