Trail Overview
Deer Lake is considerably different than other trails in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. There are multiple tree roots that will need to be traversed as well as areas that are tight and careful driving will need to be done so you don't side-swipe trees. There are washouts that will test certain rigs' break-over angles. This route doesn't appear to be travelled very often and there are possibilities for downed trees. Along the route, there are a few turnouts as well as a turnout at Deer Lake to launch small boats or Kayaks. This trail is very fun and provides a much different experience than other trails in the area.
