Trail Overview
National Forest Service Trail 5104 is an overgrown off-road trail within the Manistee National Forest. This trail is easy with nothing technical. Most of the trail consists of sand and dirt. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. With this trail being overgrown in a lot of places, weather could cause many downed trees. Come prepared or plan on backing out of this trail to turn around. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. At the 0.5 mile point, you'll pass NFS 5105. This is a connector trail to other nearby trails. After passing this connector trail, NFS 5104 dead-ends in another 0.2 miles at a small area to park for recreation use or to turn around and continue your adventure. Please keep in mind that this trail is typically overgrown and pinstriping is likely to occur to your vehicle. Regardless of the overgrowth or conditions, this is a cool trail that will come with great fall foliage!
