Trail Overview
NFS 5275 is a thrilling and scenic trail located within the Manistee National Forest. You'll navigate through a dense forest, around sandy berms, over "humps" in the trail, and view an old logging operation that's now overgrown with ferns. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather, and this trail doesn't see a lot of traffic. Therefore it has a decent amount of overgrowth. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail including downed trees (high possibility), mud holes, and washouts. Come prepared. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. There are a few consistent mud holes to keep an eye out for during your trek. This is a longer trail for the area, which adds to its uniqueness. Regardless of the conditions, this is an awesome trail with other great trails nearby!
