Trail Overview
NFS 5334 is a seasonal bidirectional trail located within the Manistee National Forest. Starting from the west end, you'll begin on a smooth gravel trail that is plentiful in wildflowers marking the edges of the trail. PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails! As you weave along the trail, you'll come across some washouts. These typically aren't bad, but something to be noted. As you continue, you'll pass through a canopy of towering red pine trees along the trail. There are also lots of ferns right along the edges of this route. This is a trail that should be taken slowly to ensure you can take in its beauty. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it still contains a lot of beauty and gives access to other great trails nearby. The east end of the trail finishes at NFS 9787 or FS County 21 Road. One last thing to mention is this trail is a seasonal trail that is used for snowmobiling during the winter months. Regardless of the conditions, this is an awesome trail!
