Trail Overview
NFS 5393/6034 is an offroad trail on the border of Newaygo and Lake Counties. The trail is just south of Big Star Lake, making this track easily accessible. The trail is a combination of sand, dirt, and grass, and weaves through a tranquil section of the Manistee National Forest. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. There is a large amount of overgrowth along this trail. Please use caution. Keep your eyes peeled, because wildlife is abundant in this National Forest. Regardless of the conditions, this is a fun and "longer" trail that leads to a good network of other fun and adventurous trails! This trail runs alongside private property towards the end. Please respect the local landowners and stick to the trail.
