Trail Overview

National Forest Service Trail 5510 is a scenic and easy off-road trail for beginners, with nothing technical. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt, sand, and gravel. You'll weave through a beautiful section of the Manistee National Forest that is home to a gorgeous spot of tall Michigan red pine trees. Along this trail, you'll find a large dispersed campsite. If you do partake in using this spot, please Tread Lightly! Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. There is one spot that can get washed out. It's typically very mild, but still something worth noting in case recent weather has worsened it. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. Regardless of the conditions, this is a great trail!
