Trail Overview
National Forest Service Trail 5513 is a scenic and easy off-road trail for beginners, with nothing technical. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt, sand, and gravel. You'll weave throughout a beautiful section of the Manistee National Forest that is home to a gorgeous spot of tall Michigan red pine trees. Along this trail, you'll find a large dispersed campsite. If you do partake in using this spot, please Tread Lightly! Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. Regardless of the conditions, this is an incredible trail!
