Trail Overview
NFS 6029 is an easy connector offroad trail on the border of Newaygo and Lake Counties. The trail is just south of Big Star Lake, making this track easily accessible. The trail is a combination of sand, dirt, and grass, and wanders through a serene section of the Manistee National Forest. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. There is a fair amount of overgrowth along the trail. Please use caution. Regardless of the conditions, this is a great trail that leads to a good network of other fun and adventurous trails!
