Trail Overview
NFS 6706 is an easy offroad trail on the border of Newaygo and Lake Counties. The trail is just south of Big Star Lake, making this track easily accessible. The trail is a combination of sand, dirt, and grass, and traverses through a beautiful section of the Manistee National Forest. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. The trail in one section runs along a powerline road and gets really sandy. There is also a fair amount of overgrowth along the trail. Please use caution. This track gets used regularly by SxSs and dirt bikes. Thus, it can get bumpy for vehicles. Regardless of the conditions, this is a fun trail!
