Trail Overview
This is a wonderful drive through Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The trail is accessed off of South Dune Highway or off of North Bar Lake Road. The terrain is quite hilly and is primarily a beech-maple forest. Starting the trail off of North Bar Lake, you will start with ascending 368 feet and descending to South Dune Highway at 231 feet. Most of the trail is primarily a dirt base with nothing really notable as far as obstacles. The Shauger Hill hiking trail crosses over the road two different times, so please be vigilant and courteous of other adventurers.
