Trail Overview
Wildlife Project Trail is an offroad trail located in both the Traverse City and Cadillac Forest Management Units. This is a beautiful and fun trail to tackle. According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, "Hunter monies paid for the wildlife project by revenue sources from hunting & trapping licenses, and taxes on sporting arms and ammunition through the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Program." All vehicles must remain on marked roads! This trail does have a spur trail that is access to private property. Please be respectful of the local property owners and take good care of these trails. Most of the trail consists of sand and dirt. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, and mud holes. Regardless of the conditions, this is an awesome trail!
