Trail Overview
A wide well-grated dirt trail that begins at the base of the Sapphire Mountain range and gains elevation up into the mountains. It is a great trail to access other trails including the Sawmill Ridge trail that runs across the top of the mountains and links up to the Sawmill Saddle trail. Connect all three of these up to make a loop, or just run Ambrose as an out and back. Ambrose also links up with several other trails as well making it a great one for exploration. Lots of switchbacks on the way up with trees on both sides of the trail, but nice views out towards the top of the trail. Some dispersed camping further up the trail as well as where it links up with Sawmill and a spiderweb of other trails. Bears are in this area.

Difficulty
Well-maintained gravel and dirt road with quite a few switchbacks. Take care in the turns the dirt is a bit loose and it drops off on the side of the trail.
