Trail Overview
Trail 20 is a technical dirt bike trail in the Pipestone Trail System near Butte Montana. It is the hardest single track in the area. It starts from the south end as super wide and whooped like a Jeep trail. It drops down a steep hill right away on pea gravel with embedded rocks, loose boulders, and small ledges. It narrows down at the next trail sign and goes through several rock pinches between giant granite boulders. A couple of the rock pinches are hardly as wide as your handlebars. There are lots of tight corners between the boulders and the pine trees. You have to ride up several rock features that are a moderate difficulty. It goes up and over big embedded boulder faces, and down a steep downhill descent with lots of little rock ledges that are pretty tricky. There are ledges that are a couple of feet tall, plus ramped rock faces that are taller. The rock slopes are covered in loose dirt, making them slippery. It's a fun challenge and in a really unique landscape of all of the giant boulders, so this is definitely a great trail to ride if looking for an advanced option in Pipestone.
