Trail Overview
The last half mile of the Hidden Lakes ATV trail is extremely rocky and difficult and is essentially impassable to ATVs due to near vertical climbs requiring very technical hard enduro-style riding for dirt bikers. It gets extremely difficult after the first Hidden Lake. It becomes narrow and more like a single track, and would pinch out ATVs from all the boulders in the trail. It becomes extremely steep, going up big vertical rock slabs, with switchbacks that require pivot-style turns. You really need a gummy tire for the traction or else you'll just be spinning. This section will require several technical maneuvers requiring you to decouple from your bike to get up the rock ledges. Although it's legally designated for ATVs 50" or less, it's really recommended for dirt bikes only. The pictures don't do the steepness justice.
