Trail Overview
This narrow two-track loop is the less traveled access point to the McCabe Loop Hiking trailhead. This route offers amazing vistas and viewpoints as it crosses the higher hillside. There are outstanding views of the valley below as you climb higher and higher. There are some wet, muddy sections after rain or in early springtime when snow is still melting off. The trail is also closed seasonally in the winter, with a gate at each end. At the end, there are a few great parking spaces near the hiking trailhead with a fire ring making for a peaceful night nestled in the trees. From the parking area is access to the trailhead for McCabe hiking TR 1404. There are a few bars of w LTE cell service near the very top. No cell service on the rest of the trail.
