Old Hot Springs Road - HS 1000

Trail Overview

This easy gravel road takes you from the edge of Hot Springs to the cutoff towards Plains. There are several offshoots from this road if you're willing to spend a day driving around, which also offers some limited views overlooking Hot Springs. The majority of the road is in decent shape with lots of growth on both sides, which does hinder any decent views of the valley below. This track passes through CS&KT Tribal Lands. All recreational activities on tribal-owned lands require a non-member person over the age of 11 to purchase a Tribal Conservation Permit. Difficulty

Expect dirt sections, rocky sections, and gravel with gentle grades. The road is wide enough in most areas if vehicles need to pass each other and can accommodate most motorized vehicles depending on the time of year. This is not maintained during winter snow months.
