Trail Overview
This is an amazing trail that begins at the north end of Whitefish Lake and meanders through Stillwater State Forest, Flathead National Forest, past Upper Whitefish Lake and up to Red Meadow Lake. The trail is very well maintained, and does have some steep and rocky sections, but overall, is easily accessible. You can then continue east, past Red Meadow Lake, where the road ends at the North Fork Road. Hang a right and head down to Polebridge, a small, eclectic town with no electricity. From Polebridge, its an easy 45-minute drive down the North Fork Road to Columbia Falls. Views are amazing the entire trip, and the forest headed up to Red Meadow Lake is lush and beautiful.
