Trail Overview
This dirt trail connects up Sawmill Saddle and Ambrose, running across the top of some of the mountains in the Sapphire range. It is a fun twisty trail with lots of tall trees. It opens up in a few areas with views out across to other heavily treed mountains. There are a few small dispersed campsites right off the road but this trail is mostly a great way to connect up and access other trails that would otherwise be out and backs. Expect it to be bumpy and rutted in areas, particularly in any of the twisty turns. Not difficult but also not maintained in winter. A beautiful drive in the fall when the leaves are changing colors.
