Trail Overview
Upper Brackett Creek Single Track is an easy and really scenic single track through the Gallatin National Forest north of Bozeman, Montana in the Bridger Mountain Range. It's a narrow skinny single track through wide open grassy meadows, with few white fir trees lining the trail. This one is fast, flowy, and smooth, with not many rocks. It goes up and over small hills, and traverses the gradual slopes of the mountain sides, but gets a bit shelfier and narrower at times. It has several switchbacks, but they are wide and easy. After 3.6 miles, it has climbed 1,100 feet elevation to a grassy mountain top underneath a rugged and rocky ridge line, at the summit of Ross Pass. The views here are really epic, and you can continue onto the Bridger Ridge or Bridger Foothills singletracks for more of a challenge. There is one log down at chest height that you have to go underneath. It goes through a burn area, so there is potential for more downfall even if that log gets cut. This trail is open to motorized motorcycle use from 6/16 - 10/14.
