Trail Overview

This is a 2.5-mile-long dirt bike trail in the Nelson Hills OHV Area south of Boulder City, Nevada. Going north to south, the trail generally goes uphill by going up and over lots of desert hills with lots of climbs and descents throughout. The trail is pretty wide the entire way but does have some narrow spots and off-camber spots that would make it too difficult or too narrow for an ATV. It starts by going through the desert on a dirt trail covered in small gravel, making it somewhat slippery and harder to find traction, especially on the hill climbs. The trail has some embedded rock during the hill climbs which makes it a bit more difficult. Some rock ledges are also off-camber, adding a technical challenge. It continues as a ridgeline trail that is wide in spots but also narrow for a lot of it with exposure along the spine. There's a pretty decent rock ledge that requires commitment and finding traction on the loose rock. This trail is pretty cool because it goes through a variety of landscapes, some areas with black volcanic dirt, and other areas right next to big rock formations, all with endless views of the Nelson Hills.
