Trail Overview

This area is mostly flat and full of ranches. But this trail provides some scenic sights of Cibolo Creek and its eroded banks and, as an added bonus, you drive right past the grave of famed outlaw Billy the Kid the get to the trailhead! This trail is used by ranchers and wandering cattle from time to time. You will see some water tanks for the cattle while on the trail. The trail mostly consists of sand and rock. It can be a little muddy when it rains or snows. There are a couple of spots where the sand doesn't seem to have a bottom. But if you have a 4WD, you will get through it without tearing up the track. Be mindful of cattle and other wildlife that are in the area and stay on the trail. Lastly, there is no camping on this trail. There is a designated campsite nearby for you to enjoy!
