Trail Overview
Dog Canyon is a well-maintained road that is a combination of rock and dirt surfaces. Wide open meadows throughout with rolling hills surrounding the area and canyon walls towards the east end before intersecting with Chimney Lake. Some small rock gardens and loose gravel make the drive slightly rough, however, will be passable by most vehicles. There are numerous areas to disperse camp but take note of the weather as some areas are prone to flooding based on signs, low-lying washes, and rutting. The road is two vehicles wide and overall well maintained. There is no cell service in this area, and no additional motorized spurs.
