Trail Overview

This trail leads from the border of the Carson National Forest through the Luna Creek Fire burn scar to its intersection with the Slope to Slope trail, also known as Forest Road 75. Max grade observed on the trail was 12deg, and there is one water crossing of Luna Creek, which could be dangerous depending on the season and rainfall. Use caution for flash floods, mudslides, and blowdown due to the burn. Several types of wildlife were observed on the drive, including turkeys in the creek bottom as well as mule deer bucks and does in the burn scar. The access to the trail is also not well maintained from either end, as Forest Road 75 is in bad shape, and the access to the bottom of the trail has been washed out by flooding and only poorly repaired.
