Trail Overview
This is a seasonal road that ascends/descends one of the taller hills in the area. There is a wind farm atop the hill with nice views of the surrounding hills. The road is dirt and has a few switchbacks. At the top of the hill, the wind farm has constructed a picnic area with a gazebo and picnic tables. They also put out information placards about the windmills and wind energy. The Finger Lakes Trail (North Country) runs the length of Spencer Hill Road. The upper two switchbacks have wider turns, but the lower switchback is tight and has a small stream running through it that could be challenging in colder weather. Between the upper switchbacks is a short hill that could be difficult in wet or snowy conditions. You will experience great pastoral views on this road and if you enjoy windmills, this is a road worth checking out. The lower entrance is next to a home and looks like a driveway. Pull on the road and follow it around the house.

Difficulty
This is a seasonal road that in winter or wetter conditions could be challenging. Water does run into, across, and along the road in several places and could cause icy conditions in colder weather. A few switchbacks can make tight spots if there is oncoming traffic.
