Trail Overview
Hills Creek Road takes you through the thick Willamette National Forest. One thing I noticed about this area is that it is pretty quiet; not many people travel on the forest roads. There is little to no cellphone service in this area. If you need reception, the Dairy Queen near Chevron offers wifi, stop for breakfast, or a full menu all day. Hills Creek rd offers a lot, with multiple clear creeks that have signs indicating where they are, like 324, Swift Creek, and Hyak Creek. Your drive will be filled with wildflowers of all kinds, thick vegetation and different trees. If your a hiker, this road is not short of that, three trailheads can be found on this route; Hemlock Butte Trail #3620, Vivian Lake Trail #3662, and Diamond Peak Trail #3699. Please be aware this road goes through Sierra Pacific Industries, which is a privately owned company mostly used for logging, this means the area can be closed at any time. There are no gates, but signs will be posted where closed; please respect the landowners so we can keep trails open.
