Trail Overview

If run from west to east, there is a very rocky and washed-out climb from about 800ft to 1200ft in elevation that is not recommended for stock vehicles. Once you get to the forest signs, it will be just gravel forest service roads for the rest of the trek. If you aren't comfortable with the climb, then take the trail from the east and stop when you get to the warning sign about the road being unmaintained and take it at your own risk.

Difficulty

The western part of the track is best left to vehicles with 33" or larger tires and ground clearance of 9.5" or more. It is rocky, steep, and washed out. If wet, lockers are probably a good idea. It's probably best to skip it in the snow. The rest of the track is a normal gravel forest road that any vehicle can tackle.

Access Description

If your vehicle is up to the challenge of running from the west, then look for the power line road on the right side of US 209 when approaching from the west. There is no sign, but you'll see the power lines and as you slow, you'll see the dirt road. If approaching from the east, just follow Greenland Road until you hit the forest signs.
