Trail Overview

This is a complex trail that offers a challenging and fun adventure. It is compact sand and wide enough for multiple vehicles in most places. Like most of the other trails in this section, there are several major mud holes that you can bypass, and the path around them is easy. However, this trail has something a bit more up its sleeve. Two water crossings are required, and neither have a viable bypass that is any less challenging than the crossing itself. The water crossing near Baebae's Branch is relatively easy and straightforward at roughly twelve inches deep. However, after rain, this may not be the case. The second crossing is a bit more difficult and happens midway between the Adventure Alley access and Cooke's Circle. This crossing is about thirty yards long and eighteen inches deep at a minimum. Attempting to bypass this crossing to the south leads to several trails through narrow trees and soft areas that are deeply rutted from others attempting to skirt around. The crossing was made as a baseline by going right down the middle between two islands. The pond has a wide footprint, so there may be other areas to cross that have better results. Aside from these two obstacles, this is a great trail to spot wildlife or just to get away from the crowd. A scenic pond at the north end of the trail offers a serene place to pull off and take a break to relax before continuing on and tackling the maze of narrow trees and winding intersecting trails.
