Trail Overview
This trail leads to the trailhead for Long Creek Falls, one of the most iconic falls along the wild and scenic Chattoga River. This trail leads from the main highway to the large parking area at the trailhead. Along the way it is common to see Whitetail Deer, Hawks, and other native wildlife for the Appalachian Mountains. This segment of the road is a maintained gravel trail with little washboards and washouts. Once you arrive at the trailhead there is another segment that will knock off part of the hike to the falls; this trail is 4x4 required. Photos of the falls are included in the description and it is around 4miles out and back if you begin from the trailhead, driving the 4x4 trail knocks just over a mile off that total distance. Even if you are not set on hiking to the falls this trail offers unbeatable views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Chattoga River.
