Trail Overview
The Francis Marion National Forest is located north of Charleston, South Carolina. It is named for revolutionary war hero Francis Marion, who was known to the British as the Swamp Fox. It lies entirely within the Middle Atlantic coastal forests ecoregion. The park is also entirely in the Subtropical coniferous forest. This trail is one of the main routes off HWY 17 into Francis Marion National Forest. This trail is part of a multitude of interconnecting trails through the National Forest. This trail does connect to Kinsey Mtwy RD (FSR 226) but requires navigating deep mud ruts. I did not complete this portion of the trail but have seen people accomplish it in the past. The last photo in the gallery is the end of Wythewood RD, where I turned around. Plenty of room at the end of the trail to turn around.

Difficulty
This is a skinny trail with a few ruts. Had to pull in my mirrors on my 2500HD smaller vehicles will have no issue.
