Trail Overview
This trail favorite displays what Windrock park is, was, and will be. Trail 11 encompasses Pilot mountain along with all of its wildlife, mini waterfalls, and great riding. It starts at the north end of G1 where it intersects Hwy 116 which is great for those that want to get to the trail as fast from the pavement. It begins with narrow dirt paths that wrap around washouts from water rushing off the mountain in this jungle-like terrain. The dirt paths then transition to small rock gardens that allow you to pick a plethora of lines, without picking out your body damage. While these sections are for those that enjoy a technical easy crawl, there are many spots that are smooth sailing while avoiding wide pools of mud and water. One section further is extremely washed out and can test your approach and departure angles. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the local wildlife as they have been spotted alongside the trail basking in the warm sunlight-covered coal beds from days past.
