Trail Overview

This is a well-maintained gravel road through the scenic LBJ Grasslands. There are no major obstacles or water crossings, but lots of campsites and photo ops. Find somewhere to pull off and have a picnic, or use one of the pavilions near the trailhead. This is the perfect trail for people looking for a quick getaway or to do some exploring. Cell service is sporadic at best, but there is service along the higher spots of the trail. Be sure to check for campsite availability if you plan on staying overnight, as they fill up fast!

Trail was really easy even on a 4runner with road tires is a good way to get your toes in the water when it comes to offroading.

Trail was open and clear. Gravel road so it had a few pot holes but nothing crazy at all. Several families camping and a lot of them had horses. Horses were never on the road but they are riding next to it and crossing it so keep an eye out for them! Beautiful land.
