Trail Overview

The Back 40 Trail is precisely what the name describes. The trail extends through the park's southern end with dips and turns that are just hard enough to get your 4WD engaged. Remote yet beautiful, this trail extends from the park's south end to the northwest into a remote canyon. Oversee the bluffs above the trail for Aoudad sheep and other wildlife.

Difficulty

Deep ruts and moguls in a couple sections will cause your 4WD to work hard. Some vehicles will see a wheel lift off the ground from time to time.
