Trail Overview
Fourth Water is a 2.3-mile-long single track in the Uinta National Forest. It's one of several dirt bike trails that spur off of the 21-mile-long Center Gwt single track and could be used as a bail-out from this longer trail. It's intermediate difficulty because it has lots of narrow overgrown sections, potential for downfall, moderate rock sections, and lots of creek crossings. The trail goes through lots of grassy fields and along the base of the rolling mountains along the drainage for Fourth Water Creek. This trail seems less ridden and more overgrown with grass and brush with branches extending over the trail that whip your hands. Most of the creek crossings are easy and shallow, but one is deeper and trickier because of a downed log at the end of the crossing. You'll ride through beautiful scenery in these hills and go through a gate. Some of the other more difficult sections of the trail are rock sections with loose bigger rocks on the trail that can ping you around and off-camber sections. This trail can be pretty muddy in spring and early season but is open year-round.
