Trail Overview
Grass Valley Road is a 12.5-mile point-to-point dirt road rated 2 of 10. This road connects the communities of Pine Valley and Pinto. The road is predominately two-lane consisting of hard-pack dirt and gravel. This trail travels through the Pine Mountain section of the Dixie National Forest. If run from south to north this trail ends in the historic community of Pinto. Native Americans from the Utes and Piutes tribes occupied the area along the banks of the river long before Mormon settlers established the community of Pinto in 1856. It is believed that the communities name comes from the local band of Piutes called the Pintiats.
