Trail Overview
This loop runs around a unique rock formation known as The Honeycombs. Along the route, many incredible rock formations and cavities resemble a beehive. The trail is mostly a two-track dirt road with a few rocky sections and steep climbs. The rock formation is the remains of a lava dome formed 4.7 million years ago. This location is also a public collection pit for lattice rock, which is desirable for aquarium use.
