The trail provides access to the Blundell Geothermal Plant and passes the historic Roosevelt Hotel ruins. The Blundell Geothermal Plant is a 34-megawatt operating geothermal power plant that fees off the Roosevelt hydrothermal system with temperatures up to 250-degrees centigrade (480-degree Fahrenheit).
