Trail Overview
This is another full-width trail that's a road less traveled. You loop around east of Monroe Mountain Road just south of Upper Box Creek Reservoir. The trail is rocky in places, requiring a good amount of ground clearance, but it's not difficult. The rocks are no greater than 12 inches. The wildflowers are in full bloom in the summertime, and the scenery is beautiful. After you pass the reservoir, there is another lake on the property, probably fed by the many springs in this area. The possibility of seeing wildlife is good, especially early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Deer, coyotes, elk, and more call this plateau home. This is an easy trail that's worth the detour!
