Trail Overview
Nephi Pasture Road is a 9.5-mile point-to-point trail. Nephi Pasture Road provides access to the west side of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and traverses the Wygaret Terrace. It also provides access to a network of roads traversing varied terrain, from sandy, open sagebrush flats to pinion-juniper forests. The Nephi Pasture area features several loop drives with views of Timber Mountain and the White and Vermilion Cliffs. The western end of the trail starts at the Nephi Pasture Staging Area with plenty of parking for rigs and trailers. The road consists of mostly hard-packed dirt and sand, which can be deeper crossing washes. Once into the interior of the National Monument, cell phone coverage is limited to trails close to Highway 89.
